Cubs sign another career minor leaguer.

Say hello to you're newest Chicago Cub!

Have fun in Iowa, Bryan.

The Cubs signed Bryan LaHair to a minor league contract.

I'm not sure why.

LaHair is 27 years old.

He's a first baseman.

Haven't the Cubs had enough of these kind of guys?

I guess they need someone to replace Jake Fox.

Some more stats...

Bats: Left
Throws: Right

He was in the big leagues for part of only one season, 2008 where he batted .250 with 3 homers and 10 rbis in 136 at-bats.

But at 27, and the fact he's spent 3 years at AAA, for the Mariners makes this signing a bit of a head scratcher.

It is a minor league contract, so he isn't on the 40 man roster, but he has been invited to spring training.
