First Halladay, now Cameron. It has not been a good 10 days for the Cubs.

We've had another player snatched away from us.

Mike Cameron signed today with the Red Sox.

Yep.

Scratch him off the list now.

So Marlon Byrd is the next best option out there, and he'll probably get 4 years $40 million from some rich team like the Marlins on Wednesday.

Good grief!

That leaves Rick Ankiel, Scotty Pods, Reed Johnson and Lucy Van Pelt as the only viable options for a center fielder for the Cubs in 2010.

Center field in 2010?

Can this get any more depressing?

I've learned to not get my hopes up. I have no expectations for the Cubs this year...It saves me from the disappointment in Sept/Oct.
