The news around Cubbie world right now is that all trade partners outside of the Rays are pretty much out as far as Milton Bradley is concerned.
That probably means, if a trade happens, the Cubs will get getting Pat Burrell, which is probably the worst possible scenario for the Cubs right now...as he had a bad year last year, and can field at all, and will likely platoon with Kosuke, and will cost a ton of money.
So, let's look at this...if Burrell joins the team...
They will have to pay:
Burrell-$9 million
Kosuke-$14 million
Bradley (for playing with the Rays) - $5 million (that's being conservative)
That would result in the Cubs paying $28 million for right field alone next year!
$28 million!
And they still don't have a center fielder!
Sorry...now to the updates!

Crane Kenney (how does this guy still have a job?) tells Phil Rogers that the Cubs will not eat Bradley's contract.
Ok.

The Brewers keep it up...sign LaTroy Hawkins. I can't wait to see who they sign next!
Texas has traded Kevin Millwood...which I would have though would be a possible person the Cubs could get in a trade for Bradley. So much for that.
And Kenny Williams says that Milton Bradley isn't a bad person. Well, why doesn't he just trade for him then?
It's been a busy day for a lot of teams...none of them seem to be the Cubs. :(

ESPN.com says that JJ Putz is working out in front of a number of teams today, including the Cubs.
It will be interesting to see what the market is for him.

As has been reported yesterday, the Brewers are interested in Kevin Gregg and/or LaTroy Hawkins. You really have to wonder if the Brewers have any scouts at all.
Juan Pierre to the Tigers?

Ken Rosenthal reports that Randy Wolf is joining the Brewers with a three year contract. It has been reported that it is worth $30 million. Good luck with that, Milwaukee.
Also, the Cubs might be in on Pineiro, which would be consistent with Jim Hendry's history as GM...go after a free agent who had a career year and give him a 4 year back weighted contract.
