Spring Training site, ticket prices, renovations and more!!!

A quick update while I'm on the road this weekend...

Carrie Muskat sends out a blog entry on a number of subjects...

Go here if you want to see the whole thing.

Initially, the Cubs will announce what they are doing about a spring training site sometime in January. Mesa or Naples.

Ticket prices will remain the same for the normal (silver) and discount (bronze) games...ticket prices for the more expensive games (gold and platinum) will go up $2 to $5.

700 new season ticket packages will be available this coming year. This is good for existing season ticket holders who want to upgrade and for people on the waiting list right now.

The Ricketts's have been touring the Wrigley Field facilities...

Expect updated bathrooms and concessions. Players can expect a new weight room. The umpires will have a new dressing room (I'm guessing because the old one will be the weight room).

Expect some new mezzanine seating as well.

The triangle building is being designed. (hasn't it been for about 6 years now?)

And the Cubs will install an ice rink on the Clark side of the ballpark this winter.

That's all. I'll be in Minneapolis all weekend, but I'll try to keep updates coming. I plan to try to get a glimpse of the new Twins ballpark on Sunday.
