A reporter for MLB.com who covers the Washington Nationals is reporting that Pat Listach will be leaving the Nats for the position of bench coach of the Cubs.
Listach managed in the minor leagues for the Cubs for a number of years and left before last season (opening up the position for Ryne Sandberg in Iowa) to be third base coach for Jim Riggleman's team.
No one else has been reporting this yet, but I assumed this was going to be the case as Mike Quade and Listach are friends.
The coaching staff will, in the end, likely look like this:
Manager: Voldemort
Bench coach: Listach
3rd base coach: Jesus
1st base coach: The Deer
Hitting coach: Rudy
Pitching coach: The man who never leaves
Bullpen coach: Lester Strode.
