And that’s the way the cookie crumbles…Go Phillies!

Another baseball season is over. Well, I guess you still have to count the playoffs which I’m going to find much more enjoyable this year than the previous 3 seasons when the Cubs were either competing for or actually in the dance.

I personally will be cheering for the Phillies this year. Why? Well, I’ve always had issues cheering for an American League team. I just don’t like the American League. And the National League? Atlanta? No…because, the truth is, their fans just don’t care. San Francisco? No…the fact their fans cheered for Barry Bonds right up to the very end just pissed me off. The Reds? Almost…almost…but the thought of cheering for Dusty Baker and for the team the Marty Brennaman and Jeff Branley announce for just made me sick to my stomach.

So…the Phillies. The way I see it, they have the best pitching in baseball and their offense potentially can be quite deadly. So I’m going to cheer for a team that actually has a chance to win…and has shown the ability to win it all. I'm sure all you Philly fans are a bit pissed, as the support by a Cubs fan is probably more poisonous than helpful.  Sorry.

Yes, I’ll be cheering for the Phillies while the Cubs continue their search for a new manager (Mike Quade). The flavor of the day? Bob Melvin, former manager of the D-Backs. But more on that this afternoon.

Let the playoffs begin (since there is nothing to cheer for in the football world now).

Go Phillies!
The old Phanatic isn't happy about the fact this Cubs fan is cheering for the Phils.
