Cubs don't get Chan Ho Park. So be it, Jedi!

The Cubs didn't sign Chan Ho Park...he went to the Yankees.

No big loss...I think his last couple seasons in Philly were more a fluke.

Yes the Cubs need a veteran right handed setup man...but I don't think Park would have been a great fit on this team.

Besides...honestly...I don't want the Cubs to sign the only pitcher in major league history to give up 2 grand slams in the same game, during the same inning, to the same player! (No...it wasn't to Barry Bonds or some good power hitter...it was to Fernando Tatis?!?!?!)

Park signed with the Yankees for $1.2 million which probably will be considered as quite a bargain, and almost the difference the Cubs made up in the Theriot arbitration case. I'm guessing the Cubs were just late to the party on this one if they truly wanted to sign Park.

Anyway, I'm figuring the Cubs still have a couple million left that they could spend, so don't be surprised if they make a stab at another pitcher either by free agency or trade.
