Why the Bradley for Silva trade is a good thing for the Cubs.

The blogosphere has been all a buzz over the trade of Milton Bradley.

But, surprisingly, most of the buzz has been negative.

People sure have short memories.

This trade is good for the Cubs...and here is why.

In right field we now have a better overall player with Fukudome.
The Cubs will now be able to go out and get a center fielder...who will be better than Fukudome was in center, and better than anyone else on the Cubs roster in center.
And Carlos Silva will be so bad that the Cubs will either DFA him or put him on the DL (and thus will not affect anything on the field).

In fact, I will be surprised if Silva ever pitches regular season inning in a Cubs uniform.

Yes, it will cost some money, but Bradley will not be affecting the locker room any more.  Period.  And, as I've said before, if you think Bradley didn't have an overall effect on the team last year, you are just being ignorant to human nature.

Almost all comments out of Cubs players mouths have confirmed that Bradley was affecting the team.  (Only Jake Fox has said otherwise.)

I will be surprised if Silva ever pitches regular season inning in a Cubs uniform.

It's simple as that, folks.  Simple as that.

It's really a matter of which shit is going to affect the club more. Silva won't be around. Bradley would be.

The Cubs might be able to have Silva as a throw in to some other trade (along with some money). Who knows. One thing is for sure, Jim Hendry is horrible at signing free agents, but, honestly, he doesn't do too bad of a job with trades. He might have something else up his sleeve.
