Follow the Yellow Brick Road, to San Francisco, Mikey!

Mike Fontenot, AKA Little Babe Ruth, was traded to the Giants today. From what I can tell, the Cubs got 2 rosin bags and 10 free rides on the San Francisco street cars.

Fontenot was dubbed "Little Babe Ruth" two years ago when he, at a height of 3'8", hit a number of home runs and was given the everyday 2nd base job in 2009. Since then, he's been more of a "Little Ryan Theriot" than Babe Ruth.

Goodbye, Mikey...we won't be seeing you for a while...oh, wait, we are playing the Giants right now! Never mind.

Few people know that Mike Fontenot is a member of the Lollipop Guild.  (That's him on the right)

In other news, John Grabow is out for the rest of the season with knee problems. I, as most Cub fans, am happy that I won't have to go out and actually break Grabow's knees myself to keep him from pitching. Unfortunately, though, Grabow is expected back next year.

One last thing...Darwin Barney now officially has the goofiest name on the 25 man roster...he was called up from Iowa to take Fontenot's spot after the trade.
