Oh, what could have been!

This Sunday, Jake Peavy will be making his 2010 debut...against the Cubs.

When looking at this team and the fact they could really use one more starting pitcher, it hurts to see this guy pitching on the South Side especially knowing that he wanted to be a Cub.

I figure the Cubs could field a whole lineup of players who were thought were at some point, over the last few years, were coming to the team...

1st base:  Adrian Gonzalez.
2nd base: Brian Roberts
SS: Khalil Greene
3rd Base: Joe Crede
Catcher:  Joe Mauer (one can dream, right?)
OF:  Adam Dunn
OF:  Jermaine Dye
OF:  Pat Burrell
SP:  Jake Peavy
RP: Joe Nathan

That's quite an interesting team not great or anything...but interesting.

Sorry that I couldn't think of a catcher...can anyone think of a catcher that the Cubs have been rumored to be after in the last 5 years?

I know every team probably has a list like this, well, except the Yankees who tend to acquire everyone the ever wanted.

But just imagine what it would be like if the Cubs had Adam Dunn, Brian Roberts, Jake Peavy and Joe Nathan right now...that would have been one hell of a team! And it all could have been possible.
