What to expect from the Cubs in the coming week? All's quiet on the North Side.

What to expect from the Cubs in the coming week?

Um...probably nothing.

The bullpen rumor of the day right now is that the Cubs are interested in former closer from the Pirates, Matt Capps.  He was released by Pittsburgh.  If the Cubs do have the money, they should try to pick him up.  He would probably be the best pitcher for the price that the Cubs could get to setup Carlos Marmol in the bullpen.

Over the last couple days, the chatter about Milton Bradley has gone silent.  I said this before, I expect him to remain on the team until shortly after the Cubs Convention.  This is looking a lot like what happened in 2006/2007 with Sammy Sosa.  Fan reaction will be so bad at the Cubs Convention that Jim Hendry and the ownership will be forced to conclude that it is better for them to eat practically all of Bradley's salary rather than to let him be in a Cubs uniform in 2010.

It should be relatively quiet leading up to Christmas and New Years so I'll do my best to keep you entertained.

What to watch for at C.D.E. this week:

Wrigley Field:  What's going to be done.
DAOTW
Some fun thingy that I haven't thought up of yet
And I'll discuss 2nd base on Friday.
