Ok...
Quick, simple and to the point...here is what we know.
The Brewers made some questionable signings by giving Randy Wolf a Hendry-like contract (3 years,$30 million), and bringing on LaTroy Hawkins who will guarantee Trevor Hoffman will have about 1/2 as many save chances next year.
Rich Hardin signed with the Rangers for $7.5 million, which makes most Cub fans sick...but not me. We don't need him.
Today's silly Bradley rumor was that they were talking to the Red Sox about a Bradley for Mike Lowell salary swap. I didn't think the Red Sox were remotely this stupid, and it was said that the Cubs brought it up to Boston, and Boston just brushed it off. So I was right.

Look folks...I believe, now, that we are looking at a couple possible scenarios now for Milton Bradley:
Bradley will be traded, but it won't be until after the Cubs Convention in January when popular displeasure over Bradley will force them to reconsider keeping him, even after the horrible offers they turned down during the Winter meetings. This was what basically happened with Sammy Sosa.
Or...
Bradley remains a Cub.
Look, I just don't think the Cubs in any way find a Bradley for Burrell swap to be acceptable unless there is a third team involved...and that isn't likely to happen. Burrell is about the only player out there being talked about that would not make the Cubs better. His issues playing baseball equal Bradley's attitude problems. They are both equally destructive to a ball team here. And the Cubs will end up paying more in salary.
Sorry about the editorial...

Ok, other happenings, Korey Patterson (that's with a 'K' not a 'C') has signed a minor league deal with the Mariners.
Another player that was talked about as a possible Cub acquisition has gone to another team. That would be Kevin Millwood, who I believe would have been part of a Bradley to Texas deal...well, he's going to Baltimore instead.
*sigh*
It's a real shame that the Cubs have been handcuffed by this Bradley thing.
Stay tuned. I'll be less available tomorrow as I have an all day meeting. Whenever I have a break, I'll post an update.

I find it hilarious that K orey Patterson remains employed in major league baseball. He has not fixed any of his flaws as a baseball player that were blatently obvious in 2005!!! That is 5 whole years for teams to realize how terrible he is.
And... Let me just say I will enjoy facing the Brewers next year. ANYTHING to see Hawkins back in Wrigley again... for the other team. Plus, their starting pitching will still suck, although we made Wolf look like Koufax the last few years.
