Some bits and pieces...and DAOTW

The Arizona Fall League has wrapped up...and there were some good performances from a number of Cub prospects this year. The Trib has a round up of how things went in the desert.

Michael Brenly had a good fall!
He probably made daddy proud.

If anyone is concerned about the ad boards placed in the bleachers interfering with Wrigley Field's landmark status, don't...it likely won't come under review as the status doesn't cover that.

Nothing much as far as trade rumors over the last few days.

And now, Dumb-ass of the Week:

Goes to all the Notre Dame alumni who, for some reason, didn't pressure the Notre Dame Athletic Department enough after last season to get rid of Charlie Weis.

They aren't alumni yet...but soon will be.

Seriously.  You can say whatever you want about how well he has recruited and the NFL credentials he's brought to the school...but his record right now is worse than Tyrone Willingham's and Bob Davie's.

His record against ranked opponents: 5-12
His record against schools with winning records: 11-21
He has not won a game against an opponent ranked in the top 10.

Probably should have had another donut this morning.

If for some reason Charlie is kept next year, you alumni had better stop financially supporting this athletic department or something.

So, use your influence so I don't have to put you all up for this award again next year!

Ok...

That's out of my system.  I think I was actually rather nice to old Charlie, there.

Watch the side bar for any new news and rumors throughout the day.

*UPDATE*

This Notre Dame fan is also a dumb-ass...seriously, Jimmy Clausen is about the only reason that ND is above .500 right now.
