Bu-bye! Farewell to Aaron Heilman!

ALERT!!!

Reliever Aaron Heilman was traded today by the Cubs to the Arizona Diamondbacks for two prospects.

Heilman was brought to the Cubs last year to be a middle reliever...possibly a fifth starter.  The year wasn't great for him.  He had a 4.11 ERA in 70 appearances, 34 walks, 65 strikeouts in 72.1 innings pitched.  I think the Cubs were expecting a bit more out of him.

It may be a nice move for Heilman, who might be given a chance to compete for a spot in the D-Backs starting rotation as Jon Morosi of Fox Sports thinks.

The prospects are Scott Maine and Ryne White (Ryne??? HEHEHE)

Maine is a left handed relief pitcher who spent time for the D-Backs AA and AAA teams last year...with some decent numbers.

White is a left handed first baseman who played for one of their single A teams last year.  His numbers were not great, but he appears to have a good eye at the plate.  Another note...his name Ryne...likely not a coincidence.  He was born in 1986 in Chicago!
